Re: Hulk: Destruction

Sorry about that. I had originally posted the message here; when I came back to check for a response, I noticed it was gone and just assumed that my original post attempt had somehow not "gone through". I hadn't realized that the question had been moved to another thread (and forum) entire...

Re: Hulk: Destruction

This is a little off-topic, but I was wondering how the numbering for the different timelines is determined. (e.g. Marvel-616 vs. Marvel-5901). Presumably, there is some mechanism to avoid assigning the same number to different timelines; but is there a specific person or group of people who decide?...

Johnny Storm's high school graduation

This is a minor continuity issue that I've puzzled over. Peter Parker is depicted as graduating from high school in Asm 28, but Johnny Storm's high school graduation, at least as far as I know, has not been depicted anywhere. Both Peter and Johnny visited State U. in Ff 35; and Johnny notes in Ff 44...

Universe Designations

This question is slightly off topic, but I was wondering how it is decided what "number" a timeline gets. (e.g. 616 vs. 5901, etc.) I assume there is some sort of centralized authority so that the same number is not used for different timelines; but is it the editor-in-chief? Some committe...

Re: Hulk: Destruction

Sorry about that last post; I hadn't seen the 2008 HC Handbook entry until after I had written my previous posts, and didn't mean to "stump" anyone. Any further info about the continuing viability of the "Hulk: Destruction" series would be greatly appreciated. Personally, I'm hop...

Re: Hulk: Destruction

I recently saw that in "Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe" HC vol. 1 (2008) by Jeff Christiansen and others, under the "Abomination" entry, a Note states that "The series Hulk: Destruction took place in the alternate Reality-5901, but the Abomination did have a simila...

Re: Hulk: Destruction

I appreciate the response. It's been so long since I read those issues that I scarcely remember what happened, other than the flashbacks, which utterly contradict existing continuity. I had sort of 'set these issues aside' when I learned they were non-canon, though I don't think I got rid of them. I...

Hulk: Destruction

I had a question about Hulk: Destruction (2005) by Peter David. I recently saw these issues listed in the Hulk's chronology, but I was under the impression that they had been deemed non-canon. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Marvel Zombies 4 & 5

Thanks for the info and the link. But are these series worth reading?

Marvel Zombies 4 & 5

Hi, I saw that Marvel Zombies v.3 (by Fred Van Lente) is listed in the FAQ. I was wondering if Marvel Zombies v.4-5 were also part of mainstream Marvel continuity? I had avoided Marvel Zombies, in part because I had assumed those stories occurred in an alternate universe, but it looks like I may hav...

Re: Two-Gun Kid's recent appearances

I appreciate the response. I had always kind of liked the notiion that the paradoxical nature of 'time travel' could be avoided by the idea that alternative timelines were created; but this new "hybrid" situation that you discuss, where time travel sometimes creates alternative timelines, ...

Two-Gun Kid's recent appearances

I have been re-reading Dan Slott's run on She-Hulk, and I really enjoyed the part where he has She-Hulk bring Two-Gun Kid into the modern Marvel universe. Still, I wonder about other aspects of that storyline; it seems to contradict the notion that time travel necessarily creates alternative timelin...

Agents of Atlas

I have recently started reading the Agents of Atlas series, by Jeff Parker. I was wondering if these stories are officially canon? I saw references to the original 2006 "Agents of Atlas" series in various entries (Jimmy Woo, Gorilla-Man, etc.), but no references for the subsequent "Ag...

Re: Flashbacks in Hulk v4 #23

Thanks for the feedback. I have taken a look at Archive 52, and it's a shame that I wasn't around to participate in that discussion. As a longtime Hulk fan, I have reprints or originals of maybe 90 percent of all Hulk appearances to date, including all of the appearances through H2 141, as well as t...

Re: Flashbacks in Hulk v4 #23

Ah, I believe this is a revisit to Hulk: Gray by the same creative team (analysis Archive 52, earlier discussion A40), which we deemed non-canon (or, more specifically, "unreliable narrator amounting to non-canon" for the meat of the thing - we have the framing sequence in, but not the FB...
