Marvel European Exclusive (X-Campus)

Post by Jason Doty » Wed Apr 15, 2009 9:58 pm

Just picked up X-Campus on Amazon and it is quite good. It was a European Exclusive that they have released as a translated Graphic Novel. The storyline is very X-Men: Evolution like. Although all the X-Men characters, including Wolverine and Storm are teens and no one wears costumes, but all have the same abilities. In this story, Magneto runs a school, using it as a cover to recruite mutants. He works with Mystique (a guidence councler) Professor X (a teacher, who is actually working opposed to Magneto) and several of Magneto's cronies round out various positions at the school including Toad (grounds keeper) Blob (cafateria staff) Pyro (maintnance) and Mesmero (who serves Magneto keeping Worthington II mesmerized to keep funding the school). The students include Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Marvel Girl, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Rogue, Emma Frost, Sebastion Shaw, Donald Pierce as well as a whole school of regular kids. The book is about 8 issues long and has stories involving the Brotherhood, the Hellfire Club, Juggernaut, and Sentinels all presented in a fresh new way. If you get a chance, pick it up, it has fun stories with good art.

Cool info -- thanks!

Say, whatever happened to Chris Claremont's European project involving the women of the X-Men?
