Mephisto's historical alterations for OMD/BND
For the One More Day/Brand New Day, Mephisto thinkered with reality to change some events. Among those I am aware of:
1/ Peter and MJ dated, but never married.
2/ Harry Osborn is still alive (has there been any word about his wife Liz and son Normie Jr since then?).
3/ Aunt May was never shot.
4/ Most people cannot remember Spidey revealing his identity, and the few that do cannot remember his identity.
Have there been any alterations revealed since then?
Is anyone other than Peter himself aware of his secret identity?
And is anyone aware of how Mephisto exactly changed time? Did he retroactively rewrite history, or just everyone's memories (and I am assuming all physical evidence as well)? In other words, if someone went back in time to before Civil War, would Harry still be alive and Peter be single, etc. or would there be pre-BND withj married Peter and dead Harry?

Re: Mephisto's historical alterations for OMD/BND
As I've understood it, he changed people's memories, and made some reality changes here and there (like restoring Aunt May's house and bringing Harry back to life with a set of false memories), and the only one who still remembers the truth is Peter Parker, and possibly Mary Jane, but I'm not so sure about her.
If someone went back in time before Civil War, I think it probably would be just the same as we remember it. The pre-OMD/BND version. Another possibility is that it would be impossible to time-travel back to the pre-OMD/BND timeline, but instead you're automatically shunted into an alternative timeline, kinda like how Doctor Doom's and Nathaniel Richards' timemachines worked.

But they were engaged and had a wedding planned. The alternate outcome is supposed to be revealed in ASM 600.wolframbane wrote:1/ Peter and MJ dated, but never married.
I thought she just "recovered" from the shooting.wolframbane wrote:3/ Aunt May was never shot.
Much like the Clone Saga, it is expected that Marvel will just try to move on and avoid dealing with any OMD related questions.wolframbane wrote:And is anyone aware of how Mephisto exactly changed time?
Just the memories.wolframbane wrote:Did he retroactively rewrite history, or just everyone's memories (and I am assuming all physical evidence as well)?
Marvel has said that MJ was never pregnant so those stories are not canon anymore.wolframbane wrote:Have there been any alterations revealed since then?

Does Peter remember the events of his pre-BND life?Starman wrote:the only one who still remembers the truth is Peter Parker, and possibly Mary Jane

Except if it's been stated somewhere I've not seen, there's no clue either way (full memory, or fake memories like everyone else).wolframbane wrote:Does Peter remember the events of his pre-BND life?
I think we'll have to wait a bit for a definitive answer.

i'd say it's fairly obvious that he remembers his pre-BND days just as everyone else in the MU now remembers them.JD wrote:Except if it's been stated somewhere I've not seen, there's no clue either way (full memory, or fake memories like everyone else).wolframbane wrote:Does Peter remember the events of his pre-BND life?

That's second-hand information from Marvel editorial.
I'm not sure that "MJ was never pregnant in this brand new day" = "those stories aren't canon anymore."

Re: Mephisto's historical alterations for OMD/BND
I don't have the books handy to check, but I seem to remember one scene that implies that he remembers at least something:JD wrote:Except if it's been stated somewhere I've not seen, there's no clue either way (full memory, or fake memories like everyone else).wolframbane wrote:Does Peter remember the events of his pre-BND life?
Peter returns to his apartment and finds Norman Osborn and the Thunderbolts there waiting for him. He's initially panicked, but then finds out that Norman is just there because Peter is Spidey's photographer. Peter thinks to himself something like, "Oh yeah - nobody remembers that I'm Spider-Man."
I may be misremembering things -- maybe the scene was more ambiguous. Can anyone confirm the details?

I was going to say that. Also, I'm pretty sure thatAdministrator wrote:Okay, couple of points.

is the case with the pregnancy, too.cweed4 wrote:Much like the Clone Saga, it is expected that Marvel will just try to move on and avoid dealing with any OMD related questions.
As for Harry, we're going to find some of it out in the upcoming ASM 581. As for practically everything else, we're supposed to find out in the upcoming ASM 600.

Re: Mephisto's historical alterations for OMD/BND
I remember in OMD, when Peter and MJ made the deal, Mephisto said that they would not remember their previous life together, but a little part of their souls would and scream in frustration, and thats exactly what Mephisto wanted.
Re: Mephisto's historical alterations for OMD/BND
I seem to remember Eternity doing something similar to this sort of reality warp that Mephisto pulled, except he did it for Doctor Strange. He rewrote history so everyone remembered "Stephen Sanders" (with the exception of Murdoch Adams). Did that complicate chronology?
