Just for clarification- is it THE Beyonder or A Beyonder that appears in the flashback?

It is A Beyonder, one of the Beyonders who were destroying the multiverse. This Beyonder stabbed a blade through Starbrand's body, mortally wounding him and causing him to lose control of his cosmic energy. Starbrand then exploded, killing that Beyonder.

As for THE Beyonder (the "child unit" who was responsible for the Secret Wars), he fused with the Beyond energies contained within Owen Reece from Earth-616 to become a Cosmic Cube which later evolved into Kosmos. This Beyonder briefly reappeared after Owen went evil for a time but was soon restored to her Kosmos self. Of course, Kosmos later became the insane being known as the Maker and died when her mortal body was killed by the Annihilation Wave. What happened to her "Beyonder essence" has never been revealed.
