I have a question here for Russ..
In Golden and Silver Age comics which contain a text story, what is the correct protocol for story numbering? Does one count the text story or just the illustrated stories?
Likewise, in Marvel Magazines of the 1970's, which contain a number of articles together with illustrated stories, does one count the articles, or just the illustrated stories?
I ask, as i've noticed a discrepancy in some listings, where some comic and magazine stories have been numbered to include everything, and some, probably most, have been numbered just according to the illustrated stories. For instance, if Magazine A has an illustrated story, followed by two articles, then another illustrated story, would the correct numbering for the illustrated stories be MAG/A 1 and MAG/A 1/2, or MAG/A 1 and MAG/A 1/4..?
Perhaps you could incorporate your answer into the MCP Stylebook which you have provided for us relative newbies (and thanks for that, by the way)..

Question regarding story numbering in Magazines & Golden Age comics
Out in the Land Down-Under, beneath a rocky outcrop, deep within the back paddock, dwells the Stray Lamb.

Re: Question regarding story numbering in Magazines & Golden Age comics
Count the illustrated stories. Whenever we get around to incorporating text stories they'll be labeled as MAG/A 1/TEXT (or something to that effect).
So, if some comic has story 1, story 2, text story, story 3, the text story would still be COMIC 23/TEXT, not COMIC 23/3 (that would be the third illustrated story).
The same goes for articles or "features" (like a pin-up, activity pages, etc.). Skip 'em in the numbering.
If you spot anything already in the listings that doesn't line up with this please point them out!

But what about when there's more than one text story? Would it be MAG/TEXT 1, MAG/TEXT 2, and so on?
