CONAN: RAVAGERS OUT OF TIME GN (1992)
By Roy Thomas & Michael Docherty

APPEARANCES:
Conan, Red Sonja, Gonar (Conan era), Gonar (Kull era), Rotath (also in fb), Kull (also in fb), Brule, Tu, Conan’s Free Companions (inc Salbat, Shirik), Turan soldiers (inc Artax, Gobryus), Ape Lords (inc Xeethra, Thasaidon), King Yildiz (mentioned), Prince Yezdigerd (mentioned)

FLASHBACK:
Recap of COB 37 (“more than half a decade ago”). Kull stands over the dying Rotath (more than eight thousand years ago). Recap of COB 37-FB (“so few years ago”).
SYNOPSIS:
Conan and his Free Companions raid a Turan caravan captained by Red Sonja. Red Sonja joins Conan, revealing they were transporting gold and she was planning to steal it herself. Also, she has a captive: Gonar, who they recognize from a previous adventure (COB 68). They decide to raid the mine; Conan eventually realizes he’s been to this mine before and knows where it is. When they find the mine it’s abandoned and they soon find out why: the giant slug (from COB 37) has eaten all the miners. However, it now speaks and Conan realizes that Rotath the sorcerer, who was consumed by the slug, has somehow taken it over. Conan chats with Rotath, who then transports himself, Conan and Red Sonja back in time, leaving Gonar behind. Arriving in the past, Conan and Red Sonja are captured by the Ape Lords and chat with Xeethra. Seeing this, Brule reports to King Kull that the Ape Lords are preparing to attack. Rotath sends Conan to abduct Kull, which he does. Rotath makes Conan and Kull fight so Rotath can possess the stronger body, or else he’ll kill Red Sonja. Everyone fights, Kull’s army kills the Ape Lords, Gonar arrives to cast a spell and kills Rotath. Conan and Red Sonja are pulled back to their own time with Rotath dead.

NOTE:
Both Conan and Kull thought COB 68 was a dream. Only Red Sonja knew it was real the whole time.

In three years, SAVSCO 233/3 will expand on the “Kull kills Rotath” flashback seen in COB 37-FB and here.

Roy’s chronology places this after COB, specifically between SAVSCO 221 & SAVSCO 223 for Conan and between SAVSCO 233/2 & SAVSCO 223/2 for Red Sonja.
