Phantom Eagle (and others) in New Excalibur#12

There's a single panel appearance of Phantom Eagle on the first page of New Excalibur#12 that's not listed in his entry, shown as part of a montage of future and past visions Merlyn is watching. The script confirms it is Phantom Eagle fighting the Red Baron. No idea where in his chronology it would fit, beyond knowing Richthofen was around from 26th April 1916 until 21st April 1918.

The other visions might be effectively recaps of events seen in other stories, or they might be new. Per the script, the visions are:

--The ebony meteor first crash landing on Earth, during the age of the dinosaurs

-- The Phantom Eagle in a dogfight with the Red Barron

-- Atlantis sinking into the sea

-- the Mandarin discovering his rings

-- a shot of Rama Tut on his throne

-- a shot of the Ancient One in mystic battle with a Asian demon

Anytime between M/S-H 16 and GR2 12-FB would be fine; it's just a shot of him in his plane.

Also, looks like Days of Future Past Magneto is missing, as is the Time Variance Authority's Mr. Mobius.

Oops. Also missing are Fin Fang Foom, Devil Dinosaur, Hercules and the Invaders (Captain America, Sub-Mariner, Human Torch & Toro).

According to the main story in GR2 12, the Phantom Eagle was killed sometime prior to the end of World War I, while trying to smuggle his powers out of the German Empire. The Eagle then re-appeared as a ghost and spend the intervening decades repeatedly trying to kill the man who killed him, Hermann von Reitberger.

In GR2 12, the Eagle causes the aged von Reitberger to suffer a fatal plane crash. This supposedly allows the Eagle's ghost to rest in peace, though Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze feels that the Eagle does not deserve peace and wishes him to have "bad dreams". The Eagle's ghost gets a cameo in GR2 13, where he is flying his biplane towards the Moon.

In "Skaar: King of the Savage Land" #4-5, a new character claims the Phantom Eagkle identity. He is an unnamed, living man who claims that the Eagle's spirit has entered his body. It was not clarified if this was true, or if he was insane.
