Red Raven Revamp

Post by StrayLamb »

Red Raven's early chronology is in need of a revamp. Suggested placements with explanations below..

RED RAVEN
X 44 (11:4)-FB [The clipper flies into the storm]
{RRAVENC 1 (1)} [The clipper is thrown off-course by the storm]
SUB 26 (10:4)-FB [The clipper dives towards the island]
T@ 12/2 (7:1)-FB [The clipper flies over the city]
RRAVENC 1 (2:1-2:3) [The clipper crashes near the city]
T@ 12/2 (7:2)-FB [A baby is rescued from the wreckage]
RRAVENC 1 (2:4-3:3:1) [The Birdmen bring the baby to the king and prepare to kill the boy]
X 44 (11:5)-FB [One of the Birdmen suggests they can raise the child as one of their own; the king agrees, telling him he must be responsible for the child’s actions]
RRAVENC 1 (3:3:2) [The king says “Stop,” and decides to raise the child himself]
T@ 12/2 (7:3-7:4)-FB [The king announces that the child is a gift of fate and shall be given artificial wings]
SUB 26 (10:5)-FB [The child appears to be given over to a young couple to raise]
T@ 12/2-FB
SUB 26 (10:6)-FB [Named Red Raven by the Birdmen, the youth flies with a pair of artificial wings]
RRAVENC 1 (3:4-17) [On his 20th birthday, Red Raven is sent to the surface world (1940 - Red Raven Comics #1 was published in Aug 1940)]
X 44 (11:6)-FB [On his 21st birthday (1941), Red Raven appears before the Citizens’ Council, asking the Birdmen to drop their plans to obliterate the surface men] * NOTE: If this is Red Raven's 21st birthday as it says, then Red Raven must approach the Council four years before he approaches the king after Twelve 1. The Birdmen's plans for wiping out the surface world may have been developing over several years. Also note that Red Raven is dressed in different attire here, compared to when he goes to the king.
M/PRM 29
INV 6
M/PRM 30
INV 35-FB
INV 36
INV 37
INV 38 (1 - 8:3)
M/CP 160/4
INV 38 (8:4 - 17)
INV2 1-BTS
CA:P 1 (12 - 13)
TWELVE:SH
TWELVE 1
X 44 (11:6)-FB * MOVE FROM HERE (unless we ignore the 21st birthday remark, and take it as Red Raven's 25th birthday)
SUB 26 (10:7)-FB [Red Raven approaches the king of the Birdmen, asking him not to attack the surface world (after Twelve 1, so 1945)
X 44 (12:3 - 13:4)-FB
X 44-BTS

Just checking... you’ve got both UX 44 and X 44 listed here. I’m assuming they’re the same issue of The (Uncanny) X-Men from the 1960s and not issue 44 from the X-Men series that started in the early ‘90s...?

Yep - that's the [Uncanny] X-Men (1963). Thanks for pointing that out. I've edited the above to fix that. MCP lists the first series of X-Men as X 1-141, and UX 142-544. The 1994 series is listed as X2. My brain keeps wanting to write UX for the entire first series, as i can't break the habit of thinking of the entire first series as Uncanny X-Men.
