Gaining super-powers through exposure to gas

Post by Leoparis »

A common attempt to rationalize super-powers has been to classify characters as mutants (Owl, Toro).

A recent catch-all explanation was that characters were actually Inhumans (Toro again). The advantage of this one is that Inhumans can be exposed to the Terrigen Mists at any age.

So I'd like to compile a list of Marvel characters who gained their super-powers through exposure to gas, whether they've been classified as Inhumans or not.

Here are those who sprung to my mind:
Mimic (X-Men 19)
Captain Wonder and Tim (Kid Comics 1)
Gus the janitor (Marvel Fanfare 55)

And characters who emerged from a cocoon as well. Adam Warlock is the only one I can think of and makes me wonder what was the plan when the Enclave kidnapped Medusa and attacked the Inhumans ca FF 206 and A 188 and FF 240-FB.
Did the writers want to tie Adam Warlock's creation to the Terrigen Mists because of the coccoon?
