Col_Fury wrote: Sat Jul 21, 2018 1:28 am C3 1 was published the same month as UA3 23 and really should start after that. I’m not seeing Cable anywhere in Secret Empire, so it looks like it doesn’t really matter.
Note that Cable's arm has changed design (reverted to "classic") in C3. He still has the UA arm in the "Deadpool Kills Cable" arc of Despicable Deadpool (written, oddly enough, by the UA writer!)
Col_Fury wrote: Sat Jul 21, 2018 1:28 am GENX2 1-2 has a Quentin flashback to him losing the Phoenix Force, so, you know, after MT2 15-19. Also, a new student is joining the X-school, but I’m not sure that means it’s the start of a semester. A big deal is made about Quire asking to come back to the school. Jubilee does tell the students that they’re trying something new with the curriculum, so maybe it is the start of a semester…

GENX2 3 says the new student has been at the X-school for at least a few weeks. #4 happens on that same night. The Gen X kids find out Monet is eating mutants.

GENX2 5 happens in a day; no mention of how long it’s been since last issue.

GENX2 6-7 happens in a day; Jubilee is looking for Monet. No mention of how long it’s been since #4.

GENX2 8-9 happen in a day. Quentin leaves the X-school. GENX 85 (a Saturday) starts three days after GENX2 9 (a Wednesday), and since this issue is Legacy-branded I’ll say we’re past SECEMP by now.
Okay, as you're about to discover, you've made a VERY faulty assumption regarding the interaction of GENX2 and MT2... (here's a hint - the GENX2 writer didn't know anything about Aaron's use of Quire in MT2 until it was published!)

Regardless of the two writers creating what appears on the surface to be a mutually exclusive event, Quentin's appearance in Mighty Thor has to go before Secret Empire to account for Thor Odinson's appearance there. Quentin has a flashback to that event in Mighty Thor, as Col_Fury mentions, earlier in Gen X 1-2, prior to the later event in Gen X 86. He must have had a remnant of the power left, which is what he used in Gen X 86. I gotta say, i really enjoyed Gen X 86-87. Nice finale to the series.

I guess that image of Quentin in a Phoenix suit on page 13 of GENX2 1 is a reference to W&X 37, then? Because GENX 86 was pretty specific that MT2 15-19 happened in the four days between GENX2 9 and GENX 85 (despite the eight-month publishing difference).

I guess that means all of GENX2 takes place in the relative past, and that GENX 86-87 takes place before SECEMP. Oh, also, GENX 85-87 all happens in a day (with a few days later epilogue in 87).

I also really enjoyed this volume of GENX. :)

That's a good point..

Problem is, GENX 86-87 has to happen after Phoenix Resurrection (which occurs simultaneously with JG 11), as Jubes is still a vampire here (also, Old Man Logan has his adamantium claws here, so this has to be prior to OML 33, which is during the time when Fisk is mayor). Phoenix Resurrection has to happen after X-Men Gold 21, as Rachel has her hound scars and Prestige costume here.

So.. SECEMP > X:G 21 > PHXRES 1-5 > GENX2 86-87

Hmn.

Well, Jubilee asks if MT2 15-19 happened in the last four days but Quentin doesn't answer. An editorial box tells us to check out MT2 19 to see what he's talking about in reference to the "last four days" comment.

Also, they keep referring to it as a "Phoenix shard" and not the whole Phoenix. So I guess Quentin could have a Phoenix shard while the Phoenix itself is coming for nu-Jean over in JG.

So yeah. We'll have to assume Quentin had his Phoenix shard all through GENX2 and ignore the editor's caption in GENX 86.

Thanks people!

The only issue is that Phoenix Resurrection seems to suggest that the Phoenix is gone from the Earth permanently after the end of that series. I guess it's possible it left a shard of itself in Quentin until GENX 86-87.

IF5 1-7 continue into IF 73 and is likely after SECEMP. Danny mentions he’s been wandering the world for “months.”

LC 1-5 continue into LC 166 and is likely after SECEMP.

C3 1-5 is probably after SECEMP.

Nova has been off-world for “four days” so no appearances for him elsewhere during that time. Also, Nova’s been later for school three times “this month,” so school’s been in session for at least that long (so this could be anywhere from September thru December). Ms. Marvel (same as MSM4 14) and Spider-Miles (SM2 12) cameo in #2. Also, DEATH’S HEAD appears!!1~!!

NO7 4-6 & 7 (1-16) happen some time later, not immediately after #3 but not too long after either (maybe a week or two?). Happens in a night and Rich gets all fixed up. Gamora appears (on Earth, so likely before GOTG4 19, and therefore 17). NO7 7 (17-20) happens “a week” later. Before CHMPS2 8.
Just to put it out there..

NO7 1-3 is set on Three Kings Day, which is the first week in January.. is it possible to fit NO7 1-7 (1-16) into this period.? [Edit -Having re-read Nova, i see Gamora is still hiding out in Nova 4, so this HAS to go before GOTG4 17..] :?

[Edit - Also, i notice that ANGOTG 1-2, 4-8 & 10 are missing from the list, apart from the 7-FB & 10-FB]

Yep, one is where the series begins, and the other is where the series finishes. It doesn't interact with anything else in the meanwhile, so place it where you like..

DPTD 1-5 references Loki running for US president in the past tense so we’re at least into November. Rocket Raccoon appears on Earth with no mention if he’s able to leave or not, but was recently experimented on by Doctor Bong via Roxxon and was published the same month as GOTG4 16-18, so likely before the Guardians leave Earth. Also, published the same time as RR3 2-4 and DP6 24-28. Lasts a few days, then there’s a “one week later” epilogue.

Probably somewhere in here:

SLORD2 3-5 (three weeks later, lasts two days, so November 29-30)
BP6 12 (1-18)
RR3 1-5
SLORD2 6 (about a week later, so December 5-ish)
ANGOTG 10-FB
DD5 21 (19-20), 22 (1-17)
MT2 13-14
GOTG4 18-19 (GOTG leave Earth)

*

DPV.P 1-5 was published at the same time as DP6 29-32 and P11 11-13. In theory, that would be somewhere in here:

DP6 27-28 \ SM/DP 15 \ DP&MFM2 9 \ SM/DP 16 \ DP&MFM2 10 \ DP6 29
FOOL3 1-5
AMERICA 5-6 (spring break)
P11 14

Are there any clues to knock that out or support it? There’s gambling on superhero fights in #1; assuming they’re watching live video and not recordings, then Teen Hulk (TAH 18), Iron Fist (PM&IF3 15 & IF5 2), Black Widow (before SECEMP), Captain Marvel (MCM 4), Cap (Sam) (CA:SAMW 21) Old Man Logan (or his hand does, OML2 21-22), Hercules (A6 6), Spider-Man (ASM4 26), Scorpion (V3 6) and Juggernaut (way before ICE3 5) all appear. Happens on a Thursday through a Sunday.

#2 starts “a couple of days” after #1 and the Kingpin appears (K2 3). So does Taskmaster (CA:SR 16). Taskmaster is in #3 again, and happens either a few day or a week after #2. #4 happens soon after, maybe a day or seven. #5 happens on the same day as #4. No appearances for Deadpool or Punisher elsewhere during this mini.

That gives us a larger range:

GENX2 5
V 150/2, V3 1-6, V 150-153
ICE3 4-5
HAWK5 6 (20), 7-11
X:B 4-5
INFIM 6-12 (Ironheart appears, Hill no longer around)
DD5 23 (19-20) & 24 (“two weeks later”) [early/mid March]
X:G 4-6
OCCA 5-7
H4 7-10
NF 1-6
CA:SAMW 24-FB
CA:SAMW 21
THANOS2 7-12 (“4 weeks” after THANOS2 6)
IIM3 7-10 (after INFIM 6-12)
DD5 25 (1-15) [March 20]
DP6 27-28 \ SM/DP 15 \ DP&MFM2 9 \ SM/DP 16 \ DP&MFM2 10 \ DP6 29
FOOL3 1-5
AMERICA 5-6 (spring break)
P11 14
MU3 1-5
M-T5 1-5
PPSSM2 1-5
SECWARR2 5-FB
CHMPS2 9
USQG2 21
P11 15
GENX2 6-7
U.S.A 4, 5 (1-18)
X:B 6
DP6 30
SECWARR2 1-FB
DP6 31
CA:SR 11-13
TB3 10-12
CA:SR 14
UA3 18-23
CA:SR 15
DS4 20
DD5 25 (16-20) [March 30]
MCM 5 (1-9)
CA:SR 16, 17-FB
SECRET EMPIRE

ICE4 4-5, CA:SAMW 21 and the TAH / WX3 crossover may need to be moved, and I’m not concerned about this happening before CA:SR 14 for Taskmaster (Secret Empire related plot elements), but otherwise, looking pretty good. :)

Santa got tired of being Santa and cast a spell to make everyone forget about him; this results in Galactus being the symbol of Christmas, people giving hot pants to each other for “Pantsgiving” and various other holiday mix-ups. Since Gwenpool is from a different universe she’s not affected, and that’s how we get GP HSPEC.

Yes, there’s a bit of goofiness going on and the Red Skull is wildly out of character, but we can blame that stuff on Santa’s botched spell. Everything gets fixed by the end.

An editor’s note places this after P11 4.

GP HSPEC came out the same month as UGP 9. We currently have a great big gap between UGP 6-7.

GP HSPEC /2 is a Deadpool Halloween story. Rogue appears.

UGP 7-10 finally wraps up the plot from #1-6, but GP HSPEC has to happen between #6-7 because of the supporting cast.

UGP 11 happens in a day and Blade guest stars. It sounds like UGP 7-10 is relatively recent, but not immediately recent.

UGP 12-13 has Arcade as the villain and Peter Parker cameos in #13 (same month as ASM4 25). #14 starts soon after (like, the next day), Hawkeye (Kate, same as HAWK5 5-6) and Ghost Rider (Robbie, after his series ends) appear in UGP 14-15, and the story goes all the way through #20. There’s a nice break after #20, and #21 is Legacy branded.

UA3 18-23

DS4 20
DD5 25 (16-20) [March 30]
MCM 5 (1-9)
CA:SR 16, 17-FB
SECRET EMPIRE
---

DS4 20 has a narrative break during which time Zelma loses track of how long she's been nursing Dr Strange in Weirdworld, so DS4 20 (11-20) occurs after an indeterminate break. In Uncanny Avengers 19, Deadpool attempts to get help from Stephen, but Wong tells him he's away on an important mission. DS4 20 (1-10) could be placed prior to UA3 18-23, possibly somewhere around DP6 30 or 31, which would nicely explain his absence..

CA:SR 15 could be moved down with CA:SR 16 as the two issues appear to overlap as reconstructed below (the missing pages are flashbacks to a non-existent past)..

Captain America: Steve Rogers 15 (1-4) [Sin takes Red Skullback to his estate to recuperate from his surgery, where Steve Rogers is waiting for him]

Captain America: Steve Rogers 15 (7-8) [Sharon Carter goes ahead with the briefing on Sokovia, where an agent informs her that at 0400 hours, the Sokovian capital was overrun, and both the government and rebel forces surrendered to Hydra; just then, Carter is informed of Red Skull’s escape from custody]

Captain America: Steve Rogers 16 (3-7) [In Bagalia, Maria Hill breaks into Taskmaster’s apartment, accesses his computer, and sees footage revealing Steve Rogers to be a Hydra agent; having collected seven of the eight shards of the Cosmic Cube, Fixer and Dr Selvig work on a way to reconstruct the Cube, Moonstone and Atlas look for the final piece, and Bucky finds himself strapped to another flying bomb]

Captain America: Steve Rogers 16 (11-15) [Maria makes a call to Rick Jones; Moonstone and Atlas locate the final shard of the Cosmic Cube; Zemo launches the flying bomb]

Captain America: Steve Rogers 15 (12-21) [Sharon Carter sends Helicarrier Crescent to engage Sokovian forces; Steve tosses Red Skull out the window to the rocks below; Zemo arrives with Elisa Sinclair, the new Madame Hydra, and the new High Council of Hydra]

Captain America: Steve Rogers 16 (19-30) [Steve embraces Elisa, and she introduces him to the new High Council of Hydra; SHIELD Helicarrier Crescent enters Sokovian airspace, and Sharon Carter gives the command to launch fighters, when Dr Faustus takes mental control of the crew; Taskmaster informs Steve that Maria Hill is placing a call to Rick Jones; as Maria tries to stay ahead of the Hydra goons, she tells Rick that Steve is a Hydra agent; just then, Steve calls Rick, who puts Maria on hold; Steve tells Rick he needs the Planetary Defense Shield codes; Rick sends the codes, then Black Ant appears, and knocks him out; Sin informs Steve that his troops are assembled in the mountains, and are waiting to hear from their new leader;Zemo arrives, informing him they have lost the Cosmic Cube fragments; as Steve addresses Hydra, Selvig commits suicide, and James Reed, a tech support guy at the Planetary Defense Shield, blows himself up, along with the Shield base station; as Carol Danvers' screens show the Chitauri incoming, she is informed that the Planetary Defense Shield is down, while Bucky is apparently killed when the flying bomb detonates]
Out in the Land Down-Under, beneath a rocky outcrop, deep within the back paddock, dwells the Stray Lamb.

SM/DP 19-20 guest stars Slapstick and was published after his mini ended, so sometime after that.

SM/DP 21-22 has Arcade as the villain and nu-Cyclops appears in Madripoor at the end, which fits with issues of X:B at the time.

SM/DP 23 is Legacy branded on the cover, so most likely after SECEMP.

Good catch on the MG&DDINO 18 Thanksgiving reference!

As for the late October / early November date overlaps, there's little to no character overlap so I'm not too concerned with it. There may be some with Mighty Thor and Loki in MT2 & VLOKI; I'll have to take another look.

The same for the Kingpin series; Daredevil guest stars, but his book has so many breaks that the gaps between the two don't matter much character-appearance-wise. And the "Six months later" break in K2 5 only has an appearance by the reporter lady so again, I'm not too concerned about that.

As for DS4 20, time moves differently in Weirdworld. As pointed out in SM/DP, Spider-Man had about a week to heal from his injuries but only four hours passed in the real world. So yeah, Zelma could have lost track of "weeks" worth of time while in Weirdworld but only hours would have passed in the real world.

Also, I currently have ANGOTG 1-2, 4-8 & 10 after SECEMP.

Thanks for the CA:SR stuff!
