Doctor Strange portion of Strange Tales 142-144 is missing.
Tales of Suspense 72/2 is listed after 76/2.

Thanks Troutlaw!

I've fixed those up, and also combined the Engagement to Wedding of Reed & Sue and the Wedding to Arrival of Galactus/Attuma's Flood topics.

I've expanded on Strange Tales 135, filling it out with Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD 4 and relevant pages from Fury 1. I've left the entirety of those issues intact, even where they repeat the same scenes, for those who want to follow along.

In Marvel Heroes & Legends 1997 (p. 34 or thereabouts), May says "I'm sure you'd like my nephew Peter" to which Mary Jane replies "It's nice of you to think of me, Mrs Parker, though I don't really care for blind dates." It seems May was able to persuade her, though, as in Amazing Spider-Man #25 Betty Brant and Liz Allan meet MJ at the Parkers' house: "she just dropped in to visit my nephew". I think this implies that the events of Avengers #16 (published May 1965) predate those of ASM #25 (published June 1965).

A good observation, Captain!

It may be a little more complicated than that, however. There's a lot of interaction between the characters at this juncture. Check out the following topics..

A Reading Guide to Avengers 15 & 16 and Spider-Man/Human Torch #1 (2005)

Moving this for MJ & Aunt May would require a reshuffle of the Avengers, Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four at the very least. What you're saying makes a lot of sense, but maybe Aunt May was pressing MJ to try again?

Here's the page in ASM #25 that got edited out, due to space considerations:

May is at home alone. There's a knock at the kitchen door. She opens the door. It's MJ. It's drizzling outside, so MJ is wearing a scarf.

MJ: "Hi, Mrs. Parker. Aunt Anna is baking for her church social, and she wondered if you had an extra cup of flour she could borrow."

Aunt May: "Well, of course, dear. You just come on in, and have a seat in the living room, while I scrounge up that sugar for you."

MJ: "Ummm...flour. You know, I could help you find it."

Aunt May: "Now, dear. I insist. You're a guest in my home, and my departed husband would just be beside himself, if he knew that I allowed you to lift a finger of work in my kitchen. So just go in there, and take a moment to relax." (Shoos MJ out of kitchen, turns to open cabinets.)

Aunt May (thought bubble): "Oh, it's finally happened! She's come to meet Peter. Now, if I can just keep her here, until Peter comes home. She's here to meet Peter! Can you believe it? She's actually here to meet Peter!!"

Pick up with published page:

Betty and Liz show up.

Aunt May: "Welcome, girls! Oh, I want you to meet Mary Jane. She just dropped in to visit my nephew!"
I can't promise you that things will improve, if we make changes;
I can promise you that they won't improve, if we don't.

Ha, I thought there would probably be some other factors at work. Thanks for the links StrayLamb; I'll give them a read – it had been mystifying me why SM/HT #1 was spliced into ASM #25 as well.

Incidentally, in MH&L '97, the speeding car from which Quicksilver saves May and MJ looks like a circa 1910 model in yellow with a flame paint job... this is so outré it feels like it must be a reference (or Easter egg?) of some kind, but to what I have no idea. Anyone else?

It is my understanding that your list was strongly influenced by the timeline established in Marvels 3 (great book, BTW) but as good as it is, that issue may contradict some of what had been established in the original 1965-1966 issues. For example, your list places the Hulk's sequence from his travel to the future to his encounter with Hercules Tales to Astonish 75/2 to 79/2 during Fantastic Four 45 but his meeting with Hercules occurs between Thor 127 and 128 because of Hercules' timeline. Here are a few notes on my observations:

I note some discrepancies in several arcs in this whole sequence. I color-coded the different arcs for an easier overview.

Wasn't it established that the reason why Namor did not crash Reed and Sue's wedding is that he was on his Trident quest in Tales to Astonish 70-75? Same goes for the Hulk who was getting the Ultimate Machine for the Leader on the Watcher's homeworld in the Tales to Astonish 70/2-75/2 issues (and I'll get back to that in a future post). Shouldn't they be much closer to or even overlapping Fantastic Four Annual 3?

The Thor segment when he returns to Earth to face once more the Absorbing Man starts in Journey into Mystery 120 (6:6 - 7:3), after a long stay in Asgard where Thor gets bored to death. The problem with the placement whole segment that ends in JIM 123 is that it is supposed to happen while the Avengers have disbanded thanks to the Enchantress's schemes, just as it is the case for Iron Man who is confronting the Mad Thinker in Tales of Suspense 72 (correctly placed in your list). I noted that you have inserted Avengers 22-FB between two segments of Journey into Mystery 122, and I assume it refers to the panel Avengers 22 (11:5), but the narrative does not imply that it is a flashback at all. Official Index for Avengers also place these three issues at the same time. That's why I would recommend moving the JIM 120 (6:6 - 7:3)-JIM 123 segment. This part could be broken down as follows:
Journey into Mystery 120 (6:6 - 7:3): Thor returns to Earth after passing a relatively long time in Asgard
Thor: Blood Oath 1-6
Journey into Mystery 120 (7:4 - 16): While Thor is seeking Jane, Loki rematerializes the helium Absorbing Man and sends him back to Earth.
[...]
Journey into Mystery 121: Thor n New York in huge battle against the Absorbing Man
Avengers 21 (1 - 20:2): Power Man and the Enchantress manage to publicly discredit the Avengers.
Marvels 3 (1 - 3)
Journey into Mystery 122 (1-9:1): During the battle, Loki teleports the Absorbing Man to Asgard. Thor finds Jane and is surprised by Hobbs who discovers his secret.
Avengers 21 (20:3 - 20:6): Avengers are forced to disband by the authorities.
Avengers 22 (1 - 11:3): The team members cope with their unemployment issues.
Avengers 22 (11:4): Iron Man is seen fighting the Awesome Android.
Journey into Mystery 122 (9:2-16): A short time later, Loki has convinced the Absorbing Man to attack Odin's palace while on Earth Thor accepts to take Hobbs to Asgard.
Tales of Suspense 72 (1 - 8:4)
Avengers 22 (11:5); Thor arrives in Asgard.
Avengers 22 (11:6): Giant-Man's whereabouts are unknown.
Tales of Suspense 72 (8:5 - 12:5):
Avengers 22 (12 - 20): Cap finds proof of the frame-up and restores the Avengers' good name.
Marvels 3 (4:1 - 4:2)
Tales of Suspense 72 (12:6 - 12:9)
Journey into Mystery 123: Thor and Odin defeat the Absorbing Man.

Your segment for Strange Tales 137-144 should be split. I would leave Strange Tales 137-141 (Hydra and the Betatron bomb) where it is. But the arc in Strange Tales 142-144 occurs during Captain America encounter with Batroc in Tales of Suspense 75/2-76/2. Therefore IMHO, the Batroc arc is placed way too far in your list. Here is my take on the 1965-1966 issues. I did not insert the later issues that could take place in between, but I took very much into account the original placement suggested in the Official Index (which places the Batroc Story between Avengers 25 and 26), the MCP lists as well as the references in the comics and it could be listed in a single block:
Avengers 23-24
Avengers 25 (1-4:5)
Avengers 25 (4:6-20)
Tales of Suspense 72/2-74/2: Cap eliminates the threat of the Sleepers but falls to an apparent death in the ocean.
Tales of Suspense 75/2 (1-3): Them has hired Batroc to steal the Inferno 42. Cap is saved by a passing ship.
Strange Tales 142: Fury is informed that Mentallo and the Fixer have joined forces. He contacts other SHIELD units who report that they still have not received the Inferno 42 and asks about Batroc's whereabouts. He gets captured by Mentallo and the Fixer.
Strange Tales 143: Tony Stark helps rescue Fury and SHIELD puts an end to the miniature H-Bomb.
Tales of Suspense 75/2 (1-9:3): Next day, Cap is recovering from his fall and crosses path with Agent 13. Batroc tries to steal the Inferno 42 from Agent 13.
Tales of Suspense 75/2 (9:4-10): Agent 13 flees with the Inferno 42.
Tales of Suspense 76/2: Batroc recovers Agent 13's cylinder and delivers it to Them. Agent 13 is sent to the hospital from radiation poisoning.
Marvels 3 (10:3 - 11:1): An example where this issue is unfortunately out of sequence here in the comics timeline, but I have a viable solution in next paragraph.
Strange Tales 144: Back in SHIELD HQ, Fury learns of an attack by the Druid on an atomic aircraft. Jasper Sitwell joins SHIELD.
Tales of Suspense 77 (2:3-4:3)-FB: The Mandarin has finished his creation of Ultimo.
Tales of Suspense 74-75: Iron Man must control Happy who has turned into the Freak.
Tales of Suspense 76 (1-7:3): Stark manages to get Happy back to normal and accepts to follow Sen. Byrd to Washington.
Tales of Suspense 76 (7:4-12): Right after they leave, Stark is abducted by the Mandarin.
Avengers Spotlight 22/2: History of the Swordsman
Strange Tales 145: SHIELD continues to investigate the Druid and his giant eggs.
Amazing Spider-Man 29-33

BUT... With my suggestions above, there is a problem because it places the Batroc sequence in Marvels 3 (10:3 - 11:1) between Marvels 3 (4:3 - 4:5) and Marvels 3 (5). It could be an error made by the writers of Marvels 3 who may have forgotten about this detail. It's hard to keep track after all these years and it is not the first and only time where the original story makes more sense than a later retelling. So I can live with this if this means we remain consistent with the Strange Tales 142 scene where Fury talks about Batroc going after Inferno 42. It is obvious that the Batroc sequence should go there.
