Where in all of the chronologies for these eras are the Millie, Chili, and Patsy comics?

Good question, vanhornluke. When you've figured it out, let me know.

Boy are you going to have fun placing the FB in the first story in Marvel 75th Anniversary Celebration. (Appears to be concurrent with Fantastic Four 1 (9-12)-FB, but might affect your placement of some other things...)

Also: "Learning to Crawl"! (And "I Was That Guy in Spider-Man's Armpit"!)

I don't have Marvel 75th Anniversary Celebration, or Spider-Man 1.1 - 1.5, so that's why they're not listed. Looks like a job for Clive_Reston. Help me out here, guys! As for the Patsy Walker's, Patsy & Hedy's, and Millie the Model's, we could probably slot them in based somewhat on publication date compared with Fantastic Four issues.

So the conceit of the lead story in the 75th Anniversary Celebration one-shot is that Ben Urich is writing a column for the anniversary of the Fantastic Four's rocket flight, and there are flashbacks to lots of things that are implied to have been happening simultaneously ("where were you and what were you doing..."):

* The FF sneaking onto the base and heading to the rocket
* Jane telling Donald Blake that he needs a vacation and has spoken to a travel agent about "Norwegian tourism"
* Tony Stark at a casino, with Pepper asking him if he wants to set up a meeting with Ho Yinsen (he doesn't)
* Bruce Banner picnicking with Betty Ross, at some point before they test the gamma bomb
* Hank Pym naming Pym Particles
* Peter Parker showing Uncle Ben some photos he's taken
* Matt Murdock punching a heavy bag at Fogwell's Gym
* Nick Fury telling Dum Dum Dugan that he's starting to think about leaving the CIA, and that "there's talk of a new outfit being formed"
* Warren Worthington flying
* Captain America still in an iceberg
* Winter Soldier in a suspended animation chamber
* amnesiac Namor in a soup line
* Major Carol Danvers flying a plane, noticing the (FF's) unauthorized rocket launch
* young Sam Alexander watching an episode of "The Rawhide Kid" on TV
Then, after a flashback of the FF getting their powers (with a caption that has wiggle room for what follows to be some time later), we get a few more panels of flashback:
* Charles Xavier showing Bobby Drake the X-mansion for the first time
* Doom fighting a bunch of soldiers in purple-and-yellow outfits (declaring "Latveria shall be mine!")
* Luke Cage in prison
* Wolverine naked in the woods with what appear to be metal claws (to be fair, this could be almost any time after "Weapon X")
* Lei Kung telling Daniel Rand that he's "ready to face Shou-Lao"
* Millie Collins on a modeling assignment
* Storm on the savannah, being a goddess (with her headpiece)
* Stephen Strange getting ready to buy the Sanctum
* A very young Kamala Khan being called inside by her mother

Things this affects, off the top of my head:
* There's a longstanding suggestion that the early Dr. Strange stories could have taken place pre-Fantastic Four #1, but since he's already in the Sanctum in ST 110, apparently not. (Note that From the Marvel Vault: Doctor Strange is the story of his first night IN the Sanctum.)
* I am a little foggy on Carol Danvers' pre-M/S-H 13 chronology, but does that bit fit established history?
* Angel: Revelations 1-3 are gonna have to move earlier. If the later FBs are included in that same moment, so is everything leading up to Iceman coming to the Xavier School.
* I'm guessing the scene with Doom is ca. the flashbacks in Books of Doom #5.
* Lei Kung really has to have been kidding there.

Thanks for that! None of these appearances are yet in the MCP.

My placements, including the X-Men stuff, are based in the most part on the 1985 Marvel Saga series. A lot of stories have been printed since then that contradict earlier placements.

* Warren Worthington flying - Placing this earlier shouldn't be too problematic.

* Nick Fury telling Dum Dum Dugan that he's starting to think about leaving the CIA, and that "there's talk of a new outfit being formed" [Before the Flight]
* Wolverine naked in the woods with what appear to be metal claws (to be fair, this could be almost any time after "Weapon X") [After the Flight]

This is highly problematic, as is everything surrounding the birth of SHIELD.

I have this in my notes:

Alpha Flight: In the Beginning Minus 1 (9-11) ~ Marvel Saga 1 (24:2) [As they prepare for their church wedding, which is planned to be held in a few days time, Dept H asks Hudson to scout some locations in the north, and he takes Heather along as a combined work/hunting trip & honeymoon; while doing some hunting, they are attacked by Logan, wearing nothing but a wolverine pelt, and with no memory; seeing Logan attack Hudson, Heather shoots Logan & they take him back to Dept H for study; when the wedding day arrives, Hudson tells Heather he can’t leave his study of Logan for the next few days]

Wolverine Minus 1 [Not long after finding Logan wandering naked & amnesiac in the wilderness, James & Heather Hudson send him to see Dr Myron MacLain, the inventor of Adamantium, in Washington; he is picked up at the small Canadian airfield by Ben Grimm; when Logan arrives in Washington, he is shadowed by agents of SHIELD, as well as agents of Hydra, who have him listed as the escapee from the Project; while being examined by MacLain, Sabretooth comes to get him, and leads Logan out; just as Sabretooth is about to shoot Logan, Hydra goons attack them, but then Nick Fury & Carol Danvers arrive & pull Logan into the car; Nick wonders why Logan doesn’t recognise him, and thinks Logan & Carol don’t know each other; Carol assumes Logan’s playing for plausible deniability and goes along with him, not telling Fury that she knows Logan; Hydra blows out Fury’s tyres, but then Black Widow fires a grenade into the Hydra car, wanting to keep Logan out of the hands of both SHIELD & Hydra; just as Widow leaves, Sabretooth arrives & he and Logan get into a fight; next day, Logan arrives back in Ottawa]

So according to these issues, and in established Marvel history, Wolverine was picked up by the Hudsons before the FF Flight (and this is placed as such in Ben Grimm's chronology, along with others, on the MCP), and SHIELD is already operative. All of this must occur prior to Before the FF: Ben Grimm & Logan 1-3, which specifically occurs prior to the FF's First Flight. Looks like the writer of the 75th Anniversary Celebration has moved this due to believing SHIELD was not activated until after the FF Flight. Many other writers believe SHIELD was established earlier. The whole SHIELD problem is discussed elsewhere. http://www.chronologyproject.com/phpbb2 ... =2&t=13847.

* Storm on the savannah, being a goddess (with her headpiece) - I have based Storm's appearances on age markers given in Uncanny Origins 9 and her mini-series. Her activities could probably be moved to an earlier position if needed.

* Stephen Strange getting ready to buy the Sanctum - I have Stephen moving into the Sanctum prior to the FF Flight, but i could move this if required. There don't seem to be any appearances for him that would make this a problem.

Thing is, though, if these are based on the individuals memories and not on documented evidence, their placements in the 75th Anniversary Celebration issue could be faulty. Marvel heroes are notorious for not having a clue where they were or what they were doing (especially when written by Bendis), or how much time has passed.

I'll get hold of a copy of Marvel 75th Celebration & ASM 1.1 - 1.5, and see how they can be fitted in.

Nick Fury doesn't specifically say the new outfit is SHIELD, just that there's talk about *something* going on. There's definitely a lot of wiggle room there.

And Logan hanging out naked in the woods could happen any time at all, before or after the Hudsons! It's kind of his deal.

As for "Learning to Crawl" and other Slott stories, my own sequence (which doesn't go as deep as yours, but might be a useful guideline!) goes:

AF 15 (1-6)
Amazing Fantasy (2004) 15 (10th story)
AF 15 (7-8)
ASM3 1/7 ("Amazing Reality")
AF 15 (9-11)
ASM3 1.1 (1-3)
AF 16 (1-6)
ASM3 1.1 (4-14)
AF 16 (7-30)
ASM3 1.1 (15-22)
AF 17-18
ASM 1 (both stories)
ASM3 1.2
ASM3 1.3 (1-6)
ASM 2 (first story)
ASM3 1.3 (7-21)
ASM 2/2
ASM3 1.4, 1.5
ASM 3

Thanks for that. When i get a chance, i'll incorporate your Learning to Crawl items into the main list.

The problem still remains if Fury is supposed to still be in the CIA during the FF First Flight, as it contradicts the timeline established since the mid '90's in Alpha Flight Minus 1 & Wolverine Minus 1. It may have to be put down to misinformation or faulty memories.

Of course, those issues themselves contradict Strange Tales 135 & Fury 1, which show SHIELD to have come into being after the FF First Flight. Various Marvel comics depict Nick Fury's involvement with SHIELD prior to FF 1, some even show him involved with SHIELD in the 1960's, while others hold to the original concept, with Fury becoming involved with SHIELD after FF 1. :willynilly:

I've incorporated most of these into the main list above, placing ASM3 1.2 & ASM3 1.3 (1-6) immediately before ASM 2/1, and ASM3 1.3 (7-21) immediately after ASM 2/1, and ASM3 1.4 & 1.5 immediately after ASM 2/2, mostly for convenience at this point. I've placed ASM3 1.1 (1-3) between Amazing Fantasy 15 & 16, but ASM 400/3 also goes in there, and i don't know which comes first at this point. I've left out Amazing Fantasy (2004) 15/10 for now as it needs to be integrated with issues of Spider-Man: With Great Power.

Also added is ASM 801 (1-11:2), which i had in my original list, but i wanted to check that again. It begins three weeks after Uncle Ben's funeral, so fits nicely in here.

It would appear that the details for Tales to Astonish 44 are incomplete (only one segment is listed).

Allow me to break it down:
Tales to Astonish 44 (2:7-3:6)-FB: During their honeymoon in Hungary, Henry Pym witnesses as his wife Maria is abducted.
Tales to Astonish 44 (3:7-4:4)-FB: An hour later at the embassy, he is told that she was found dead.
Tales to Astonish 44 (4:5)-FB: Days later, Pym is released from jail.
Tales to Astonish 44 (4:6-5-1)-FB: Back home, Pym vows to use his science to fight injustice. (These segments are pre-FF #1 so I understand why they are not listed.)
Tales to Astonish 44 (5:2)-FB: Pym discovers how to change size. (Occurs during TTA #27)
Tales to Astonish 44 (5:3)-FB: Pym becomes Ant-Man. (Occurs during TTA #35)
Tales to Astonish 44 (1-5:6): Already listed. In his lab, Ant-Man takes a break during which he recalls his life with his first wife Maria, then he goes back to his research.
Tales to Astonish 44 (5:7-6:6): Weeks after, his research on specialized cells is interrupted by Vernon and Janet Van Dyne's visit.
Tales to Astonish 44 (6:7-18): Vernon is killed by Kosmos. Pym takes Janet as partner. Ant-Man and the Wasp defeat Kosmos. (Could be broken down to more specific segments, but it all occurs in one day.)

Thanks for pointing that out, RobinHoodMtl. I've incorporated TTA 44 (5:7-18) into the list above, as well as moving TOS 41-42, Fury 1 (25) & Iron Man: The Iron Age 1 (1-2) to a position just before FF 15.

I had shunted TTA 44 (5:7-18) into a secondary file alongside Avengers Origins: Ant-Man and Wasp. The two versions are incompatible, and the MCP has AO:AM&W in the non-canon file.

Nice breakdown of Astonish 44, by the way. :D

@ Col_Fury: Thanks for the nice welcome. I've been quite active on other Marvel-related sites but I've always been too shy to express myself on this one. :-P Until now, that is.

@ StrayLamb: It was a pleasure. And nice breakdown yourself (actually, all of them)! Amazing job. Since your post is fairly recent, am I to understand that MCP might be updated according to this listing? I may have a few suggestions for that section of the timeline (sometimes, an item is marked as a FB, but it is not, and vice-versa). I don't intend to comment on anything after the '60's just yet, but if I see discrepancies, I'll let you know same way I did with TTA #44.

Also, I know that on the MCP listing for a character, a story is often split because if a later retelling/retcon that complement details that were not in the original story. But several of those are missing in your listing here. For example:

IRON MAN/ANTHONY EDWARD "TONY" STARK on MCP
...
TOS 39 (6:2-7:6): Stark and Yinsen spend days building an armor. Stark puts it on. Yinsen dies.
IM4 5 (9)-FB
TOS 39 (8-11:5): Stark uses the armor to defeat Wong Chu's army.
IM4 5 (10-15)-FB
TOS 39 (11:6-13): Iron Man defeats Wong Chu himself.

Whereas this listing only has:
Tales of Suspense 39/1 (6-13)

Is that an omission? And if this is voluntary, I'd like to understand why so that I don't put my foot in my mouth when making suggestions.

And on that particular issue, am I to understand that what happens on Stark's visit to VIet Nam, his injury and his capture (TOS 39 (1-6:1)) happened before the Fantastic Four flight?
