CA 262 has a flashback as well as photos in the scrapbook.

The proximity in the scrapbook of the two articles in 4:2a would naturally lead to the conclusion that they may be related. The first time Cap & Bucky smash a spy ring is in CAC 1/2 right after the origin story. However the use of the abreviation "Cap" would mean the press is already familiar with Cap. In looking at FDR's appearances, there is one in CAC 4 right after the "smashing of the Unholy Legion" and "The FBI gives full credit for the capture of the spy ring to Captain America."

4:2b is redrawn from Invaders 35. It doesn't quite match the content of the article but the newspaper simply used a stock photo to illustrate their article.

Falcon gets his wings in CA 171 but Cap is involved in the Secret Empire plot leading to 175, then the conclusion of Thanos War and his decision to give up. This leaves circa GSA 1 or after he resumes as Cap, circa Falcon's trial in CA 192. The latter fits best as a gesture to rebuild goodwill. Kirby's run entails a tonal shift without any focus on Harlem and the Cap-Falcon team splits afterward.

CA 262 (4:5 - 5)
Red Skull in 1943, Italian island, death-ray, American soldiers behind enemy lines. 1943 points to the Mediterranean campaign. The presence of Red Skull on a hovering machine firing at soldiers is a near-perfect match for a story by Tony Salmons, of which it can be a follow-up. But which should I move?

I move CA 262 from its current position between Solomon Islands and Pennsylvania Ramapo hills. CATOW:ATB (9)-FB shows Cap in Tunisia, CAC 30/4 in an islamic country. [YALLIESC 9], not analysed yet, marks the shift of military action from Tunisia to Italy but Cap is in England in that issue, likely to get briefed on Sicily's invasion.

Cap & Skull's hand to hand fight in CATOW:ATB (14:1 - 14:2)-FB matches their fight at the end of CA 262. The triangular shield matches CA:RW&B /2. This fight vs Red Skull is either fortunate, either Jenkins having done research and referring to CA 262 or CA:RW&B /2.

The visual differences from the soldier's recall in CA 262 can be attributed to his failing memory.
